This paid, part-time internship is open to college students pursuing marine science or other ocean-related fields of study. This internship offers valuable resume-building experience in leadership, public engagement in the field, and expanded knowledge about intertidal habitat and ecosystems and deeper understanding of how ocean health connects to local communities.

With support from Oregon State University’s Marine and Coastal Opportunities hub (MACO), benefits include housing, professional networking, and career development opportunities. Applications are due March 26.

Volunteer Opportunities this Summer

We have many volunteer opportunities for the 2026 summer season. Gain in-depth knowledge about nesting and migrating sea birds and animals that inhabit or feed in the Otter Rock Marine Reserve. Then share your knowledge with visitors from around the world at Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area at Otter Rock. Or join a community science project and collect data on the health of our nearshore and marine reserve. Schedules are flexible.
